THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress leaders recently approached AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi against the move by the ` A ' and `I' groups to rehabilitate those leaders who have lost in the recent assembly elections as DCC presidents.

“In the name of introducing young faces at the helm of the district committees, it is learnt that a consensus formula is being worker by both group managers to accommodate the defeated leaders,“ said a Youth Congress leader who was part of the team that met Rahul Gandhi.
However, KPCC president V M Sudheeran has refuted media reports about the finalization of names of the new DCC presidents. “No discussion to finalize the names has taken place so far. The reports appearing in the media are totally baseless,“ he said. But it is learnt that the two groups have reached a consensus on sharing the DCC president posts and their nominees have been finalized. It is in this backdrop that the youth leaders of the party have approached the AICC vice-president.
As per the consensus formula, T Sarathchandra Prasad is being considered for the president post in Thiruvananthapuram. Similarly , in Kollam, P C Vishnunath and Bindu Krishna are being considered. All the three leaders have lost in the recent assembly election.
Interestingly , there are already protests against Vishnunath being considered in Kollam since he has no links with the district.

Anil Kumar also lost recent elections. Satheeshan Pacheni who is being consi dered in Kannur is another leader who tasted defeat in the assembly election. M Lijju the `I' group nominee for Alappuzha DCC president's post had lost in the Kayamkulam constituency .
Dean Kuriakose who lost in the Lok Sabha election is being considered for Idukki. Padmaja Venugopal who lost in the assembly election is being considered for Thrissur along with T N Prathapan.
Meanwhile, the meeting of the political affairs committee of the state unit of the party , which was to be held on October 27, will be held on Wednesday.
